Pressgang Mutiny are Toronto's Shantymen, dedicated to traveling the globe to discover shanties, works songs and the people who sing them. A quartet of dynamic musicians and tall ship sailors, they have performed extensively at festivals and venues across Canada, the US, and Europe. They were an Official Showcase artist at the 2023 Folk Music Ontario Conference and have showcased at Folk Alliance International. With their dedication to showcasing and sharing the full breadth of one of the world's first truly multicultural music, Pressgang Mutiny have collaborated with and learned from sea shanty singers from around the globe. Their third album, Departure, will be released in earlky 2026. By far their most ambitious project to date, Departure explores the musical connections between shanties and other musical genres and includes sampling, instrumentation, guest musicians – and of course Pressgang Mutiny’s signature four-part harmony.Whether performing a rollicking set of shanties from around the world, leading educational workshops for new and experienced shanty audiences, or interviewing other artists as part of their ongoing podcast The Shanty Show, the lads of Pressgang Mutiny are guaranteed to entertain, educate, and delight.

Beatsync is a nine-piece a cappella ensemble from Toronto, Ontario combining eclectic repertoire with dynamic beats and sophisticated arrangements. From pop to electronic to classic soul, Beatsync draws upon diverse influences to craft their unique contemporary sound, interpreting modern hits and deep cuts alike via the creative lens of co-directors Daniel Boyle and Nick Kotoulas. The group is currently working towards the release of their first EP.

Niki Andre is a FACTOR award-winning singer-songwriter whose sultry vocals, incisive lyrics and breath-giving spoken word have carried her onto stages and airwaves across North America. After surviving cancer and lung disease, she deepened her craft with support from the Ontario Arts Council, studying a cappella looping with Juno-nominated vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, producer and Humber educator Dylan Bell (FreePlay, Autorickshaw). She is currently developing The Delacroix Collection, a polyrhythmic, a cappella reimagining of her repertoire, performed solo with a loop station. She says: “This show gives me the freedom to fully explore and shape my own sound, before inviting collaborators into the mix.”Connect with Niki on her website www.sheilluminatesit.com, YouTube (@NikiAndreMusic), and Facebook (@ResurrectionSong).

Formed in 2013, Kalendar is Toronto’s only professional ensemble dedicated to the powerful traditional polyphonic songs of Ukraine. Rooted in music tied to the cycles of the earth and rhythms of village life, the lyrical and celebratory songs they sing are sonically shaped by the courage and solidarity of a people who have too often fought for survival. The singers have studied with leading performers and ethnomusicologists (Marichka, Dakha Brakha, among others), and have shared the stage with Ukrainian artists such as Maryna Krut and Dakh Daughters, appearing at major Ukrainian festivals across Canada. Whether in elaborate stage productions or folkloric collaborations with Kosa Folk Arts, Kalendar’s performances “transplant you deep in a rural Ukrainian village” (Ukie Daily).
