Clinician Bios:
Kristen Antunes is a music industry professional and musician based in Toronto, Ontario. She currently serves as Publisher Relations Lead with Canadian music rights organization, SOCN, where she manages high-profile member accounts, spearheads policy developments, and is regularly consulted for her music publishing expertise. Kristen also works as a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Toronto, teaching courses in Music Entrepreneurship and Digital Media Distribution as part of the Masters in Music Technology and Digital Media degree. Her academic and professional work converge in her advocacy for creator rights and education. Beyond her professional work, Kristen is an accomplished arranger, producer, and songwriter, and is regularly commissioned by professional and educational ensembles across Canada. She currently performs as an active member of Toronto-based a cappella group Beatsync, combining innovative arrangements with live looping and electronics.
Ryan Farley is an entertainment consultant specializing in grant writing and music licensing. He founded Hubris Entertainment Inc. in 2022, which serves artists and music businesses across Canada, helping establish clear paths to secure funding and generate income to sustain their music careers.Ryan entered the music industry in 2014 as a road manager on a cross country Hip Hop tour. Over the next few years, Ryan learned the ins and outs of grants, publishing, copyright, and sync licensing. In 2023, he partnered with LA-based sync & music supervision house A Matter of Music, working both as a music coordinator for films and as a sync agent pitching music for major productions. From 2023 to 2025, Ryan participated in multiple business development programs from his local college, small business centre, and the World Trade Centre Toronto. In 2024, Ryan received two awards for his work at Hubris Entertainment. He received the “New Business Award” from the Barrie Chamber of Commerce and the “Business Champion” award from the Barrie Arts Awards.Today, he helps artists of all genres and styles secure grants from regional to federal funders, including FACTOR, Canada Council for the Arts, and more.
